How to Reduce Work-related Injuries
Help prevent injuries at work
Injuries at work happen for a lot of reasons but statistics show that 90% of work related injuries are preventable. This is a mind-boggling percentage that makes us wonder why there are still a large number of work-related injuries, and a lot of cases concerning these.
We should also ask ourselves what solution we can do to reduce the number of injuries that happen at work. For instance, a lot of people disregard safety when it is most needed. For example, when in the office, simply arranging all the wires and cables out of people’s ways is already one way of making the office a safer workplace.
Also longer hours at work contribute to a higher risk of injuries happening at the workplace. Fatigue and stress are factors which related directly to injuries, and long hours at work trigger those factors. If long hours cannot be taken away from the type of work in a company, at least take frequent 5-minute breaks for employees to relax and do some stretching. It’s important to keep the body and the mind fresh and alert if you want to last the day at work.
If you want to effectively reduce the cases of work-related injuries in your company, you should prioritize the needs and limitations of the employees. Studies have been ongoing on how to reduce work-related injuries from happening, but we should all be aware of taking care of ourselves to at least prevent anything wrong happening to us.
